We just couldn’t decide… so we did it all!
Lake Michigan one day, a private inland lake the next… South Haven one night for dinner, then St. Joseph the next.
Sometimes, it is difficult to decide what to do on a beautiful Michigan summer weekend!
Fortunately for us, this “dilemma” is readily dealt with because of our convenient location halfway between South Haven and St. Joseph, a rare lakefront neighborhood with two inland lakes, and a variety of nearby options. One day, we felt the need to walk along the shores of Lake Michigan, so we drove 5 minutes to one of the best public beaches around and spent the entire day at the beach. The water was beautiful, but maybe a tad bit cold for swimming. The next day, we wanted to swim in “warm” water, fish, and relax on a private sandy beach, so we just walked out our front door! The water is warm & inviting, even on a cooler summer day, so swimming is always an option! One night, we had a taste for good Italian food, so we drove 15 minutes north to Maria’s Italian Restaurant in South Haven. We saw the tall ships, pier, and lighthouse against the backdrop of an awesome sunset. The next night, we drove 15 minutes south to St. Joseph and enjoyed dinner at Schu’s Grill & Bar overlooking Lake Michigan.
